Mystery Week includes a variety of events including the PNA’s Mystery Book Exchange. Join fellow sleuths at the Mystery Book Exchange on August 9, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Bring your gently used mystery books and trade them for mysteries you have not yet solved. If you don’t have books to trade, you can purchase books for a nominal amount. For information, email Chardell or call (206) 783-2244.

Mystery Week’s main event is the Gumshoe Walk. The Gumshoe challenges you to solve your way through a roughly three-mile neighborhood walk for the opportunity to raise money for the Greenwood Senior Center, a program of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, and the chance to win one of three Gumshoe prizes – a $250, $150 or $100 gift certificate to Fred Meyer!

Gumshoe entry forms are $20 and go on sale August 8 at three locations: The Phinney Market (5918 Phinney Ave N), the Phinney Neighborhood Center (6532 Phinney Ave N) and Metropolis (7321 Greenwood Ave N). You can do the Gumshoe solo or in a group, a little at a time or all in one day, so long as you return your entry form by the prize drawing deadline – 4 pm August 17.

Other Mystery Week events include: the Eatsy Street Game, Friday night outdoor mystery movies, the What’s So Mysterious About Phinney/Greenwood? Video Contest, and MiniGumshoes at local businesses. Visit the Gumshoe web site for all the details!

Thanks to Hearthstone Retirement Living, the Woodland Park Zoo, Fred Meyer, Red Mill, Ken’s Market, the Greenwood-Phinney Chamber of Commerce and Phinney/Greenwood businesses for making the Gumshoe and Mystery Week happen!
